ROBOTICS WORKSHOP FOR INVENTOR AND EXPLORER KIDS CLUB MEMBERS
Saturday, Aug. 14, 1-2:30 p.m.
How does a robot
work? Do you know what similar technology is shared by robots and roller
coasters? Learn about circuits, infra-red technology, and more. You
will also have the opportunity to assemble a robotic structure to see all of
these scientific concepts in action!!
This event is
appropriate for those members entering 1st grade through 7th
grade.

As part of membership at the Da
Vinci Science Center, we offer an Inventor and Explorer Club exclusively for our
young members. As an Inventor and Explorer Club member, each child receives a
personalized club card and introductory gift. In addition, we also offer two (2)
programs for Club members.
Saturday Morning Sessions - Children in
4th, 5th, or 6th grade
The 2-hour sessions run once a month October
through May with a final session for the club members to showcase their idea
invention or project based a field of science they have explored over the 8
month series. (Please note your child must be able to attend 6 out of the 8
sessions to participate as the sessions are continuous.) Your child must be in
the 4th, 5th, or 6th grade to participate in the morning sessions. More
information will be e-mailed to the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade club members in
September and they may decide if they would like to participate in either the
Inventor Club or Explorer Club at that time.
Quarterly Workshops -
Children ages 5 -12
If your child is not able to make the time commitment
to the Saturday morning sessions or does not meet the grade requirements, we
also offer quarterly workshops in January, April, July and October. The
workshops give your child a chance to explore the different sciences through
facilitated hands-on activities. The topic changes with each workshop and the
goal is reinforce your child's scientific interests and enthusiasms by providing
a place to pursue those interests with like-minded peers. The Inventor and
Explorer Club workshops are appropriate from children ages 5 -12. Once you are
registered you will receive e-mail invitations to the quarterly
workshops.
